I wasn't too familiar with a partially guaranteed deal, sounds like you are paid per NBA day basically?

My understanding is that its kinda how it sounds. They have a contract for 1 year, if they cut him or he doesn't make the team, only part of that contract has to be paid out.

Found this on the Aces message board. Mock agreed to a partially guaranteed 1-year deal with the Nets. I hope he makes the most of that opportunity.

Is a partial guarantee the same as a D-league contract?

Not even close. D League pays something like $20,000 That's what VanVleet was offered by 2 teams if he were drafted in the second round. They were going to draft him with the stipulation that he sign a D-League contract for $20,000. Frad said, "No, thanks".

Baker's partial guarantee is for the NBA minimum $400,000. He'll play D-League and then go to training camp with the Knicks. He will continue to make the NBA minimum as long as he stays under contract with the Knicks, but the Knicks can release him at any time. I don't know how the money pro-rates on a day-to-day basis.

If the Knicks release Baker, he's free to sign with anyone - NBA, Euroball, anyone. If he had been drafted, the team drafting him would own the rights to him for 2 years.

VanVleet is getting offers of $50,000 to $100,000 to go to NBA training camps.

As near as I can tell, getting drafted in the second sucks unless the team has agreed to give you a guaranteed contract, which is what Early got with the Knicks.

I've heard via twitter that Wes Washpun will be on the Summer League team for the Clippers.

Seems everyone not drafted is on a summer league or "special" situation.
