 "MVFC" and "elite" in the same sentence. Thanks for the laughs....

I'll just wait for you to actually add to the conversation OR disprove what I said. It'd be nice if we could actually have a discussion on these topics rather than all the nose-thumbing or name-calling that seems to follow these threads.

When folks in the Valley front office are the one's starting the nose-thumbing, it's only natural fans within the league would follow lead.

For your link above - every school strives for excellence, doesn't mean they are there yet. Striving and reaching excellence are two separate things.
So your link showing you are on top right now doesn't add to the conversation. For example, it's not like Illinois State is sitting on their thumbs striving for mediocrity... just because WSU won the all-sports trophy last year.

Every school wants to "strive for excellence" and win the all-sports trophy. If they aren't, then they need to remove their sports programs entirely.

And as far as the dope that got quoted, I never said Wichita is the only one striving for excellence, just that the MVC doesn't push for it as a whole.

The MVC does push for it as a whole. Do you honestly think they only want one team in the NCAA Tournament or one team in really any postseason tournament?

This topic of adding WSU as a temporary member into the BEST FCS conference has nothing to do with striving for excellence. WSU joining short term is not beneficial for the MVFC given its status in the FCS currently.

Question for all of you WSU fans -

Can you all provide reasons that the MVFC would actually benefit from adding WSU in that conference for up to 3-4 years?

Turns out, that even with 22 less scholarships and a fraction of the TV money the MVFC is on part with the MWC in computer rankings

The point of linking that release was not "just because WSU won the all-sports trophy last year." It has a lot more to do with the complete level of dominance. 4 straight, 10 of 13, all-time record numbers of championships and aggregate score. If every school in the Valley is "striving to win the all-sports trophy" I'll eat my hat. The elitism you shout down is exactly what WSU is striving for. Trying to be elite. It's just not a very competitive landscape in the league right now, and frankly, WSU is probably about tapped out on how much more they can advance their programs while in that (non)-competitive landscape.

Disprove that MVFC is elite conference? What is there to disprove? Nobody but a few people even know who the MVFC is and from looking at UNI attendance, most don't care.

If the MVC is striving and pushing itself then answer me these questions?

1. Why did the MVC get rid of the scheduling mandate?

2. Why did the refuse to allow DBU in the conference for baseball initially? Even allowing schools who didn't even play baseball to vote on their inclusion.

3. Why has the conference taken stance to leave it up to the discretion of the individuals schools to choose to opt-in for "cost of attendance" initiatives? This is matter that the conference as a whole HAS TO opt-in if they want to stay relevant.

1. Name recognition
2. TV Market
3. Likely to improve your own tickets sales (e.g. WSU improves tickets sales for their host by 43% in MBB).
4. If WSU does do football, they will do it right and put the resources to it.

You do realize that the MVC brings in affiliated members on 4 year terms?

UNI voted for DBU since they didn't give a damn.
MVC/MVFC are separate conferences...as you are aware.

Wichita State will do more for MVC football in 4 years than Loyola will do for men's basketball in the next 100.
