If he plays the same motion offense it will not work with this team. This team needs to play uptempo. We will be fine.

Yep. You're crazy. What in the last 9 years would make you think anything would change?

Here are the numbers: 151-143 in 9 seasons. You also might want to factor in that UE is 10-0 against D2 and D3 competition while he has been the coach. That means he is 2 games UNDER .500 in 9 years vs. D1 opponents.

How does a program have 7 seniors and the general consensus is that is a rebuilding year?

Thank you.

Some on here think I just like to pile on Evansville. But they are the people that think the first 9 years of Simmons-ball (a)justifies a 10th year and (b)they are even pumping sunshine about year 10. I feel sorry for those fans. I feel even more sorry for the fans stuck with a program going nowhere fast and an administration that seems ok with that.

I only count 6 seniors, and Simmons, of course won't be playing this year. Of the other 5, only Jaylon Brown has contributed very much to the program, maybe Boo Gibson, and David Howard also, but Boo didn't play last year due to knee surgery, and who knows how good he will be this year, and David is hardly a difference maker. The rest didn't play enough to know what they can do. This team will be as good as the underclassmen. Hardly anything, but a rebuilding year.

To say I was happy with the way Marty used the bench last year would be a huge over statement as it has led to a rather crappy outlook for this year, and yes you could say a rebuilding year.

Not 100% certain but I think Boo Gibson got a Medical Redshirt year if so he is a Junior.

Thus the Seniors are:

Benzon - limited playing time and shows athletic ability but is foul prone
J Brown - likely 2nd team all MVC
Vucetic - played only a few more minutes than I did LOL
WIley - limited playing time
Howard - backup role until now and is foul prone

Of course it would have been nice if they had more experience but their skill levels didn't force the issue last year.

It's hell to get old. It's too easy to assume things. Indeed, Boo will be a junior this year. The Aces still listed 6 seniors on the squad. Simmons, Howard, Wiley, Vecetic, Brown, and Benzon. UE80 summed up their abilities rather nicely.
