Each week we will open a poll for users to predict the end of season finish for the MVC 2016-17 basketball season. We will work in reverse order, concluding with the predicted MVC champion chosen by our users between the last two teams remaining in week 9.

Evansville was recently selected as the likely 9th place finisher (results: viewtopic.php?f=2&t=4507 )

Are the folks that are voting WSU going to vote them straight through to the end? Are they basically picking "the field"?

It's either because of jealousy or they think because you lost your two all Americans that you are going to totally tank (which is delusional).

Same goes for the ISUr and UNI votes. It's just silliness to predict any of the three as a Thursday team. That's not to say it isn't possible, but it shows either a lack of sensability or a lack of maturity.

I'd be in favor of everyone who casts a vote having to state their rationale for it, as it would stop the votes cast just to troll the fans of other teams who are clearly not likely to be Thursday teams. Not that I really care that much, as it is nothin but moronic spite, and there is plenty of that in most every thread.
But, since I said it, I'll at least wear it and say that I voted for Bradley here for obvious reasons of relative youth and inexperience and clearly a team trending upwards even at 8th this year. Loyola, Evansville, a couple others which might land here. The majority sees the reasoning well enough, as no doubt do the meatheads who voted for UNI, SIU, ISUr, and WSU. Now the MSU and ISUb voters are the ones I'd like to hear as to their explanation, unless it is just for spite, then you can stay silent.

In my mind this is a toss up between Bradley and Loyola and chose Loyola. My assumption is biggest improvement is between Freshman and Sophomore year so this is why I gave Bradley the edge.

Bradley is trending upward so I voted Loyola. Bradley will have an immediate impact player in JoJo and might finally have a PG in Brown. Between those pieces, some of the other additions, and a sophomore class with a year under their belt, I think 6th or 7th is more likely for Bradley.
