Each week we will open a poll for users to predict the end of season finish for the MVC 2016-17 basketball season. We will work in reverse order, concluding with the predicted MVC champion chosen by our users between the last two teams remaining in week 9.

4 thru 6 could be us, sycs or bears. I picked MSU.

4 through 8 or even 9 could be a real mash up. I'm guessing SIU here, as I think they have just enough experience and decent players and coach to finish here, but probably not enough talent to get much higher. I hope they don't finish lower and that Barry has at least another couple of years to try to bring SIU back from the dead. But, it also wouldn't surprise me if BH pushes them higher than 6th.

You could probably put ISUb, SIU, and MSU in a hat, draw one out, and be as close to getting it right as try to use logic to pick this position. Any of the three could possible be a Thursday team. I picked Southern 7th, so will have to pick them 6th.

I agree that MSU, ISU and SIU could all go here. So the deciding factor for me was coaching and I went with the weak link even though they might actually have the most talent of the three.

After last year, I'm done giving Lansing the benefit of the doubt on coaching. What a s***-show. Turns out, Odum was just really smart.

Lansing hasn't been the problem. We just never had any shooters. Look at the seasons since Odum left and look how bad are shooting has been. That's on players to knock down shots.

If you don't have shooters, then you need to design your offense on something besides shooting. Pound it inside, drive and kick, run and gun etc. You need to adjust to your personnel, and if you don't have the personnel to do what you want to do, then you need to recruit better.

What got me last year was that the team just up-and-up quit. Full-on quit. And the coach just went with it. Stuff wasn't working, and the whole group just folded their tents. Hadn't really seen that out of Lansing before.

PIcked MO State but #4 - #7 could be a 8-10 or 9-9 tie IMO
