Certainly all fan bases have a contingent that appears to take more pleasure in the downfall of a rival than in the joy of victory. Certainly winning programs have more active fans; and thereby more fans that degrade other programs. We've seen that before from SIU, Creighton, and WSU. That said, on the recent topic of Marty Simmons, the vocal group is being, overall, quite respectful towards Evansville while still expressing their displeasure with the apparent apathy of the fan base and/or administration. Disagreement with the direction of the league and specific teams within it does not equate to posting ugly or being a bad winner.

FWIW, I would hate WSU even if they were the worst program in the Valley.
