Ah, that's that one tournament where Illinois State hasn't won since 1998.

Kansas won the league by 2 games (yes not 4). However, a trend over the last 3/4 years in that conference with a dominant force (KU...similar to current WSU) where Bill Self has not won COY for 5 years...that's not showing how COY voting works sometimes????

Aren't you the same person who did not understand the meaning of subjective opinion last year with regards to your belief that FVV was the best point guard in the country? I think so. We are done here.

I will leave you with this...

An objective perspective is one that is not influenced by emotions, opinions, or personal feelings - it is a perspective based in fact, in things quantifiable and measurable.

A subjective perspective is one open to greater interpretation based on personal feeling, emotion, aesthetics, etc.

Objective, like, say finding any coach in the last 20 years, from any league, that won his league by 4+ games and did not win COY? Keep digging! I believe in you!

The two ISUr posters here whose posting history is saturated with Wichita State content sure do seem to get emotional.

Statements and repeated personal attacks like
The IQ of . . . is very low. Guess that's what you get with a Wichita State University education
do not reflect an even-keeled persona. I am hopeful it was posted, yet again, in the heat of the moment and will eventually be demonstrated to be an anomaly.

Even when you agree with them (which we are with 99% of this conversation), they still have to go over the top. Every little detail of every little argument has to benefit the shockers in some way or show how they were wronged.

Even when they're led by a coach who struggles to get them through a 3 day tourney in St. Louis against inferior competition ;)

Unbelievable. We agree with them too, but showing WHY GM did not win is not translating to them. Like talking to infants. The purpose of the Big 12 post was to show the trend of the last 4 years AWAY from Bill Self and Kansas (who won the league). That's it....the underdogs prevail.

The IQ of Championz (Special Sauce) and CDizzle is very low. Guess that's what you get with a Wichita State University education.

Nah, just because somebody disagrees with you, doesn't mean you're stupid. Especially you of all people. If that were the case, then well, all of Redbirdland would be considered to be, well, quite stupid.

The funny thing is, you and your little tag-team buddy aren't even agreeing with each other (supposedly). But I get it that your similar allegiance has got you high-fiving over something you're not even in agreement with (supposedly). retire12 was the one stating that Marshall undeniably didn't deserve COY honors last year because BH was a greater story and achieved more with less. You (supposedly) claim that Marshall deserved the award but the media always pulls for the underdog in these situations and that's why it happens. It's kinda funny actually. REDBIRD HIGH-FIVE.

Regardless, it still hasn't been shown that media members have not snubbed a COY for dominating a conference from somewhere other than the Valley.

As retire12 successfully stated and followed through "you aren't gonna let it go, are you?"

The same TWO who aren't obsessed with WSU or trolling their fans with every counter-argument imaginable. And the same ones who think WSU fans drag the place down and are unable to root for because of all the personal attacks they make... and there it is, who fires the personal attacks when they get mad and frustrated? Yup.

I have no counter argument for GM not winning Coach of the Year. He absolutely should have won. I was simply providing theories as to why it happened. The reaction to that theory was very defensive and attacked me as being "obsessed with WSU". I was just providing a subjective opinion of what is most likely the cause of Barry Hinson winning the award over Gregg Marshall last year.

The use of Kansas, I thought, was a good example of such contradictory beliefs that are within the system of voting for COY. Bill Self has won 11 straight conference championships, yet has not won the award since 2011. Included in that drought, was a 7th place team coach winning the award (somewhat parallel to last year). If it was 2nd place coach who won (back 2 games), then fine, but they finished in 7th place!!

Rather than acknowledge that as a potential reason, which if you disagree with that notion that's fine, you guys act like I am attacking you on your MVC pedestal...not comprehending the notion and ideology with which my belief stands.

I do apologize for the IQ attack. That was out of frustration...Play Angry is correct.

But, I am in the same belief as you guys that GM should have won that award. Yet, I keep getting attacked for providing reasons for why he did not.

Finally --You talk about Redbird high-five, but for the last few years it's always Shocker high-five as well...it's only natural to support your team together.

Conspiracy theory - by giving the coach of the year award to other teams not named WSU should help the coach who does win the award in their recruiting since the winning coach can then recruit with a business card or letterhead that says COY on it. This would then build up the MVC to where it isn't just King WSU  , Prince UNI and the eight dwarfs.

Some of the WSU crowd is always yapping that the majority of other schools aren't carrying enough water - well spread that all important COY award around to help level out recruiting (said in sarcasm).

Back to the point of this thread. I voted Brenton Scott, and after last night's game, I have no reason to change my mind. If the trees can make a run this year and somehow finish third or fouth, I think he'll have a very strong case.
