I wonder if this would've gotten in that Evansville team with Mockevicius, for example.

Just another step by the P5 schools to eliminate the Mid Majors from competing with, and beating the Big Boys. It will be really exciting to watch uninterested 500 and sub par P5 schools battle each other for the NIT Championship. I for one will not be watching. Pathetic!

Lol.

Imagine having every conceivable advantage but have such delicate feelings that you have to do this.

While it is obviously an unintended consequence, I think this helps AAC/MWC/A10/MWC/MVC/CUSA level teams?

10 bids are locked for the P4/BE, but they were already getting close to that many anyway.

It's basically trading 4-5 low major champions for 2-3 P4/BE teams, which should open up 1-3 slots for upper mid-majors.

Money wins again. Only a matter of time before they start removing conference auto bids for the big NCAA tournament and make mid-majors irrelevant.

If MVC fans are mad about this they should stop watching Big Ten and SEC football on Saturdays.

That’s where the money and power comes from.

I have. Except if I need a quick Illini-hating fix (basketball season is going to be ugly with Domask playing there).

I would love to see schools outside the Power 6 start their own tournament for teams that don't make the NCAA Tourney. Hold it in Vegas and bring whatever number of teams suits you. Make it 16, 32, 48, 64. Whatever seems to work. Play every other night until you get beat. Fans could have a good time out in the desert for about 10 days of running the tournament. It might not make any money, but it sure would be more fun for the teams and fans who went.

I for sure would attend.
