Need to keep winning the games we should and avoid "bad" losses. Also we need to pick up a few road wins that aren't expected.

I think we need to win at a minimum 4 of these games over the weekend. I picked these games as ones that could go either way, or we aren't favored. Going 5-2 on this slate would be ideal:

Friday, Nov 10
Belmont @ Furman 6:00 PM ESPN+
Indiana St @ #24 Alabama 7:00 PM ESPN+/SECN+
Murray St Vs Tennessee Tech 7:00 Pm ESPN+
UIC Vs Little Rock ESPN+ 7:30 PM
Valparaiso Vs IUPUI ESPN+ 8:00 PM

Saturday, Nov 11
Bradley Vs Utah St 7:00 Pm ESPN+
Illinois State @ Saint Louis 7:00 PM ESPN+

If Valpo loses to IUPUI, they're automatically relegated to NAIA.

Belmont/Furman is the key game here. A win on the road for the Bruins will make 5-2 possible.

Also, the Salukis play on Friday night vs. Queens University of Charlotte (a second-year Division I school)

Drake beats Lipcsomb 85-70 after trailing at half. Bulldogs played no defense in the first half, allowing 48 points, but cut that to 22 in the second half. Devries had 36.

Agreed, 5-2 would be ideal. My picks are in bold.

Evansville takes care of business and beats UHSP 116-46.

15 players played at least 10 minutes, six players scored double digit points, two more had 8, and every person who got on the floor scored.

Welp.

At least they’ll now get to be Taylor’s opponent for the Silent Night Game.

Obviously it’s wait and see until the schedule gets tougher, but another encouraging outing for Southern in a 23-point win over Queens (line was 6.5). So far most of the things you’d want to see are there: Xavier Johnson has been excellent at PG, they’re getting interior production from both Rupert and Ebube and it’s a longer, more athletic group, even playing somewhat shorthanded. I’ll even give a shout-out to Trent Brown, who surprised many in coming back for a fifth year after light production much of his career. He has been playing his best ball so far and is shooting with confidence.

At a minimum it looks to me like SIU will be plenty respectable this season with a real chance to exceed expectations of that 9th place projection. Next up is Chicago State next week before what will be a very difficult opener in Cancun against James Madison.

Even in year 1 of a rebuild, no Valley team should be losing at home to UIPUI. Hope we see some serious progress from Valpo throughout the year.
