Kennard Davis’ offensive numbers aren’t going to get him to the all-freshman team but he has had a nice year and is playing his best ball these past couple games after a bit of a midyear lull. He can really defend and is starting to play more confidently on offense. Hope he sticks around because the upside is there to be a quality two-way player.

It's sad we have to just hope guys stick around. But that's the reality of college basketball in 2024 and beyond..

Some of that is up to Mullins. Show Davis you can get some talent around him. Dudes shouldn’t just stay to stay. The coach has to help and get other good players.

PPG: 7.3
RPG: 2.1
APG: 1.5
FG%: 47.0

Another solid game today.

18 points
4 rebounds
7 assists
1 turnover

Another pretty good night for Kinziger in the Redbirds win against Northern Iowa.
21 points
2 rebounds
4 assists
4 turnovers

70 points in last 3 games.

He's been ridiculous. If he had done anything for the first 8 conference games, he'd be my hands down favorite for FoY. Really close three horse race between Kinzinger, Overton and Schwieger right now. Not sure who will end up with it. Tyson/Avila was pretty close last year but even that aside, this might be the closest FoY vote we've had in a long time.

That is pretty tight for FOY and Kinziger is certainly making a push lately but I think I'd be inclined to go Overton for being a good player on a good team, and being pretty consistent all season. Drake really needed a wing guard to step up and he has.

Agreed. He plays a lot of minutes and does a great job for an NCAA caliber team. How good the team is should matter in these things.

Schwieger has the best numbers.
Overton is on the best team (with also good numbers).
Kinzinger has the highest impact (on a mid tier team).

Three very different cases. I can make a really strong argument for all three of them. Super interesting.

Johnny Cash, Johnny Himziger, Johnny Basketball, Kinzanity, whatever you want to call him, he's once again Freshman of the Week. Definitely making a late push, despite a down game against Bradley, but let's be honest- everyone had a down game Saturday night.

Johnny “Maverick” Kinziger
