I'm sure fans of other teams hate him at times - but there aren't many dudes who are more fun to watch than Duke Deen when he gets on a roll. He's one confident SOB.

And being fair although there is a long way to go, I don't think Bowen is Johnny Kinziger. That kid is a pg, Bowen isn't.

I didn't realize until I looked last week but Bowen Born never passes the damn ball. His assist numbers are embarrassing.

I think Bowen is a talented scorer, but basically is an undersized shooting guard who can't defend either position well. I thought the other night UNI looked so much more fluid on offense when their freshman pg was playing.

100%. Born is also absolutely dragging that leg behind himself. Shooting 30% and having no lateral quickness or explosion makes him borderline unplayable but like everyone in the UNI program right now, he's comfortable and nothing is going to change.

Without AJ, we'd be staring at a decade of mediocrity.

UNI is about as hard to figure out as Missouri State sometimes.

Read an interesting stat yesterday; I think something like 8 P-5 teams had 7 or more transfer players on their roster this year, and not a one will make the NCAA tourney. Some good programs too, Arkansas among them. The idea you can just glean the portal every year and win isn't valid. Team building with a core of 3-4 year guys and then patching holes thru the portal or with jucos still works best.

For those that missed it, Duke Deen set the Bradley single game record for most 3's in a game by making 9 of 12. I believe he made his last 7 in a row in the 2nd half.

To put it in perspective for long-time valley fans, here's the list of players that were tied for the record with 8 in a game:
Anthony Manual @ Loyola Chicago on January 2nd, 1988
Aaron Zobrist @ Drake on January 31st, 1995
Anthony Parker vs. Stanford on March 14, 1996 (NCAA Tournament game)
Jerome Robinson vs. Wichita State on February 10, 2001
Danny Adams vs Florida A&M on November 21, 2006

That's some pretty good company to pass right there.

It was fun to watch in person, even if it was at the expense of my favorite team. How the Bears let him get off that many shots is beyond belief.

With each one that he made Deen got more and more amped up, eventually getting a technical for showing up the Bears bench area. Worth the price of admission.

ISU/Bradley in a 21-21 tie at halftime in an old school 2006-era throwback!

Do the TV producers of the SIU at Evansville game realize that the announcers can barely be heard due to the music being too loud during the commercial pitches for the Valley? It is pretty bad.

SIU 65-53 over UE

Salukis very likely to get a bye with a win 1 week from today regardless of their outcome this upcoming Wednesday.
