I would love it, we need a true villain to root against.

I can already hear the arena in STL singing "sha-na-na-na sha-na-na-na" anytime he loses.

I hope SIU has enough self respect to not even entertain the idea.

That would be the most entertaining thing of all time.

SIU fans supporting Marshall, whose wife is sauced up in the stands and screaming at officials while showing her midriff.

SIU wins right away, Wichita fans return to MVCfans.com to act like they don't care, but leave heart emojis on every post and slowly begin to start floating the idea of a return to the MVC.

Protests erupt on the SIU campus because they can't pay their own bills, but now have a basketball coach making $2.5 million.

It would be glorious. We'd need a Netflix documentary to capture the five-year run that surely ends in more abuse allegations and four NCAA bids with an Elite Eight and a Sweet 16.

If an Elite Eight and Sweet 16 come with it, then bring it on!

The longer the search for a replacement drags on, the more I am encouraged that SIU may be doing the right thing and pursuing a return of Chris Lowery to bring this program back to greatness. No coach has even taken the Salukis to the NCAA tournament since he was wrongfully terminated. Meanwhile, Chris has been instrumental in taking Kansas State to an Elite Eight and has saved Chris Collins job at Northwestern by turning the program from a conference doormat into a top 3 team in the Big 10. Let's hope SIU does the right thing. Apologize to Chris for the mistake Mario Moccia did years ago and put a 5 year / $6 million offer on the table. If he can be convinced to return to Carbondale, SIU can once again be a top 25 team winning games in the big dance starting next year.

If SIU doesn't land Lowery, which job do you see him landing at? He has a hell of a resume:

- SIU fires Lowery. No NCAA or NIT over the next 13 years.

- Kansas St hires Lowery. Wins 2 Big XII titles - which they hadn't won one since 1977 - and reaches a program-best Elite 8.

- Northwestern hires Lowery, he wins Assistant Coach of the Year leading NU to back-to-back NCAA appearances for the first time in school history when it appeared Collins would be fired.

Salukis have a commitment for their next Men’s basketball coach. Should be announced once the coach’s team is eliminated from the tournament.

I'm guessing it's either Texas A&M assistant Devin Johnson or Morehead State HC Preston Spradlin. I've heard both names earlier today
