Another player from Houston has committed to WSU. ESPN 3-star. He's reclassified from 2013, is taking a prep school year, and is now a 2014 prospect. Future150 grades him as a 4 star for 2013, rates him as the #15 SG in his class, and grades him at a 93.

Zachary Brown is a 6'6" SG. Scouting reports say Brown can guard the 1, 2, or 3 positions. Had offers from Wichita State, Texas, K-State, La Salle, Providence, Wake Forest, LA Tech, Washington

Is there a another link to his offer sheet? Rivals is showing him as an unranked three-star recruit, with WSU as his only offer.

Scout (ESPN) has him as a 3 star and a grade of 79 with only offers from WSU, Providence and Washington

Still a good grab from the looks of it.

Future 150 is out of Houston so it stands to reason that they would know a lot about Brown. However, if you want to go with ESPN:

And the rest of the story from Reggie Rankin, ESPN:

Junior forward Zach Brown (Houston/South Kent School) committed to Wichita State over Texas, Kansas State, Providence, Creighton and Washington on Saturday. Brown is the Shockers' first commitment in the Class of 2014.

Brown's stock has risen recently after a strong spring.

The 6-foot-7, 200-pound small forward is an excellent athlete. He is an above-the-rim finisher on the break and a big-time driver/slasher in the half court. Brown does a great job getting to the rim and drawing fouls. At the RCS Sports Spring Ice Breaker in Houston in March, Brown was also a monster on the offensive glass with some timely tip-ins and a few tip dunks.

"I am best at driving and getting to the basket; I can shoot, but I want to get to the rim and get to the free-throw line. I have to keep working on my ball-handling and get stronger to get ready for college," said Brown.

Brown's toughness and competitiveness make him a very capable multiple-position defender as well. Brown plays with energy and urgency, which fits coach Gregg Marshall's recruit profile perfectly.

"I picked Wichita State because they have been recruiting me since my sophomore year," said Brown, who took his official visit to Wichita a week ago. "The coaches are great. I loved the community, and the fan base is amazing.

"I loved Coach Marshall. He is charismatic and he has been able to win at a high level."

Fresh off a Final Four run, Brown gives the Shockers a strong start for the Class of 2014.

Here's an article in the Wichita Eagle. . . Paul Suellentrop also says he had been receiving attention from Kansas, Oklahoma and Oklahoma St, not for sure where he got that info, my only guess would be from Brown's HS coach.

A 6'7" PG??

Brown spent the summer at WSU, taking classes and playing with the team in pickup games.

Brown is playing for Sunrise Christian Prep this year. Sunrise is in Wichita, and it is PACKED with high-level D1 commits and recruits. Brown is playing PG for Sunrise.

Brown is more likely to be a wing than a PG at WSU, but a year of running point in a high-level prep progeam might indicate he's got some handles for a 6'7" wing.
