Bradley Recruiting Update

Bradley has its Red/White scrimmage tonight in conjunction with homecoming. Obviously the scrimmage is the first chance for most fans to see the team this year. However Geno Ford has made this a big recruiting weekend. Here is a note from Dave Reynolds article in the PJ Star today:

Recruits on hand: More than 20 recruits, most of them highly ranked high school sophomores and juniors from Chicago, are scheduled to attend the scrimmage.
Donte Thomas, the 6-foot-6 senior forward from South Holland Thornwood who has orally committed to the Braves, will be on hand.
Another senior, 6-7 Morgan Park forward Josh Cunningham, one of the nation’s top uncommitted recruits who will make his official visit to BU on Nov. 8, is a possible attendee.
Juniors expected to come are Ed Morrow of Simeon, Prentiss Nixon of Bolingbrook, Luwane Pipkins of Bogan and Obediah Church of Springfield. A large group of Chitown sophomores are also planning to make the trip.
Of the group of Chicago players who attended last year’s Red-White scrimmage, the Braves landed current 6-9 freshman Xzavier Taylor.

Josh Cunningham--easily the biggest BU target in years, cancelled his official visit to Minnesota and will be at the scrimmage tonight. I still put BU's chances at less than 30% of getting him but they are still hanging in there. As mentioned, Xzavier Taylor attended the event last year and signed with BU in the spring. He is also best friends with Josh Cunningham.

Of course alot of the guys coming tonight will go "higher" than Bradley but it is important to get BU's name mentioned heavily in Chicago.

Also: Bradley has standing offers and is waiting to hear from two JUCO players who are supposed to decide soon.. I would say both would be pretty high priorities.

Tramique Sutherland is a 6-0 PG at Hill College in Texas and originally from Toronto.
Jermaine Morgan is a 6-8 PF at Moberly CC in Missouri and from Chicago and played at Whitney Young. He signed with Colorado State originally but never qualified.

Sutherland committed.

Cunningham has been downgraded by Scout from #69 nationally to #80. Still a heck of a recruit though.

I hope he picks Bradley. I think Creighton was out of the mix after CU got their most recent commitments.

Cunningham is a beast. ANY school that gets him is getting a baller. He is that good.

Do the Bradley Braves close the deal on a top 100 recruit. Continue to build a pipeline from Chicago with Mac Irivin Fire players?

Tuesday at 3:00 PM CST he will make his announcement.

The tea leaves aren't sounding too good today on this being a Valley recruit.

Actually seems to be changing by the minute. I guess we will know by 3:00 CST tomorrow.

Time moved to 5:30 CST
