Now when Marty tells these guys that they'll basically sit under the basket watching 3 pointers and fade-aways, does the translator instead tell them they're going to be the next Kobe Bryant and get to run the show? Not sure why else these Euro big men keep flocking to Evansville, Indiana to be career screen-setters.

A UNI fan implying that Evansville shoots a ton of threes?

UNI was second in the league at 3 point attempts (732) last year and Evansville was last (398).

The implication was not that Evansville would be shooting an ungodly amount of the 3's. The implication is that Marty once again has a talented (maybe, apparently no one has ever heard of this guy) big man who isn't likely to be involved in the offense, based on the recent trends we've seen from the "Marty-ball" Era.

If you're going to try and tell me that Egidijus isn't underused and that the offensive scheme isn't 70% setting screens for Ballentine then I'm not sure we watched the same Evansville team last year. That's pretty much all that I, and just about 99% of all other Valley fans saw when the Aces stepped on the court.

So my point remains...if you aren't the next DJ Ballentine/Colt Ryan jump-shooting dynamo for Marty's offense what could possibly draw you to become a contributor for the Aces? Based on the number of transfers/quitters the past few seasons there is one possibility that I am leaning towards.

Taken from another thread...

If DJ doesn't stay under 425 shots and Mock doesn't get too closer to 300 this year (which won't happen) Evansville is going to be exactly where they were this year.

Look at his stats. When Mock stays out of foul trouble, he is a 17 and 10 a night guy already. If he continues to work on his quickness and defensive positioning, he will be just fine. He scored 14 or more points 11 times last year. Games in which he had limited offensive production were more a result of not being able to stay on the floor than because DJ was taking all of the shots.

Let's not forget, Mock has been in this country for less than two years. He showed up on campus his freshmen year a few weeks into the school year and hardly spoke a word of English. All things considered, his progression has been pretty impressive.

On nights when Mock stays out of foul trouble he was option 1B, on nights when he was in foul trouble DJ was option 1,2,3,&4.

I'll fix that for you

On nights he could stay out of foul trouble he was option 8 as DJ was 1-7.

On nights he was in foul trouble he was option 10
