WSU signs all 4 verbal commits to a NLI today. They are as follows:

Tyrone Taylor, high school CG from the KC metro prepping at Hargrave Military Academy. He's a 6-3, 170 lb scoring point guard with exceptional quickness and is known for his defense. Broke all of Alec Burks records at his high school. 2/3* recruit.

Landry Shamet, 6-4, 180 lb combo guard out of KC. Excellent shooter, passer, ball handler. Rated # 88 by Rivals.

Markis McDuffie, 6-8, 190 lb wing from St Anthony's high school in NJ (coached by Bob Hurley). Lead the team in scoring as a junior. Shoots well, thrives in transition, and can play multiple positions (2-5). Ranked # 91 by ESPN.

Eric Hamilton, 6-9, 220 lb stretch 4 from Georgia. Currently prepping at Sunrise Christian Academy in Wichita. SCA is where WSU freshman Zach Brown and Rauno Nurger played last year. 7 of Eric's teammates signed with D-I programs today. Hamilton is averaging 16 points and 7 rebounds in the first five games of this season, all against Kansas JUCOs. He's a 3/4* prospect.

Alonzo Trier, 6-3, Rivals #12
Dwayne Bacon, 6-6, Rivals #22
PJ Dozier, 6-6, Rivals #40

Thus far there are also six offers out to top 60 players in the class of 2016 (Seventh Woods is Rivals #12) and two to top 25 players in the class of 2017 (Per Future150 Mitchell Ballock is a Kansan and #22, Michael Porter is from Mizzu and #3).

It will be interesting to see how this plays out.

Do you expect to land any of these kids? I know that sounds condescending, just wondering if any of them will be in Wichita next fall.

I fully expect 1 top 100ish wing in Wichita next fall. The chance's of landing a top 50ish recruit is 50/50 in my book. I do not expect to land a consensus AA or to load up on top 100s, nor do I expect any top 100 bigs, but a top 150 is in scope.

So yeah, I pretty much nailed down my ideal situation. 1 top 50 transfer guard. 2 more top 100s, 1 a forward and 1 a guard. 1 more borderline top 150 guard and 1 more borderline top 150 forward.

I'm really interested in seeing what happens with this Frankamp kid. He's certainly controversial am on Shox fans. The kid must have a lot of talent to have been a top 50 recruit.

Good vision and handles. Extremely skilled shooter. Has the body of a 12 year old and the hair of a 62 year old. Lead the team USA under 18 in scoring (team included Jabari Parker and other AAs). Played sparingly and shot poorly at KU as a freshman.

He also has the career scoring record in Wichita City League history. His HS stats were something very close to: 16, 27, 32, 31 average PPG freshman thru senior year respectively. Career 48%from 3 and 91% FT. Maybe a Blake Ahearn type of player.

Ottawa, KS grad Semi Ojeley is leaving Duke at semester. He will be eligible second semester next year as a sophomore. He was the 31st rated player in the nation and is 6-7, 230. He averaged 38 PPG for a 25-0 program as a senior.

Word is Marshall is still offering scholarships to guys. Could Semi be one?

Some correction and clarification of this post. Semi Ojeleye has already used his So season at Duke. He will be a Jr in eligibility next year.

There is no source other than a few ShockerNet posters who claim Marshall is still recruiting for next year. I don't understand the WSU fans who want Marshall to go all Dan Muller on the Shox and kick half the team to the curb every year. Muller doesn't even do that any more.

"Guys alwasy transfer out" pretty much equals "guys always get cut". Then next year those same ShockerNet posters will be chomping at the bit for Marshall to get 17 commitments again and cut the players they were begging him to get this year.

Thanks for correcting my post. I was wrong when I posted that on shockernet as well, but forgot to correct it here.

The whole Michael Mulder verbal is why it appears we are still offering. I thought for sure we would be done when we went one over in the fall, but then we went two over, then Frankamp, and now Mulder. Since I have no idea what the hell Marshall is doing, I might as well root for this one too.

The Mulder "commitment" was what tipped me off that Marshall was done. Mulder announced his commitment, his HS coach announced Mulder was a Shocker - and then dead silence. No scouting services picked up on it. Nothing that's normally seen with commitments. I think he committed and then got a phone call that said, "sorry. You had a chance earlier, but now it's just too late. Please check back in the spring, to see if anything opens up".

The scouting services surely contacted him for confirmation, and I don't think any of them confirmed the commitment.
