I agree culture is a total buzzword for most, but Mullins learned most of his coaching techniques from Moser (like it or not), and creating a solid culture is the core tenant of that philosophy.

Both are looking for high character/effort guys, who play defense, and ultimately are most concerned with winning. I remember hearing on an SIU broadcast that he was targeting kids that won state championships in high school... That’s been a major piece of Moser’s recruiting philosophy since we entered the valley; and looks to be for Mullins as well.

I also think, as a fan on the outside it’s hard to identify a teams culture. We’re not in the locker rooms or practice. I think one thing I can say about Barry is his team never really had a culture (maybe identity is a better word here) on the court. Were they focused on offense? Defense? Out muscling teams for rebounds? Pushing the pace? I really couldn’t say.

He won’t be Mr Basketball.

Not what a top Wisconsin prep basketball scout reported on Twitter

"2020 PG Dalton Banks (6-2) of Eau Claire North finished with 36 points, 16 rebounds, 4 assists and 4 steals tonight in a 72-69 win over Eau Claire Memorial. Banks in the running for the Mr. Basketball award as he is having a huge senior season." - Mark Miller, @WisBBYearbook

Banks didn't win Mr Basketball and was not mentioned in the "other candidates."

I contacted the writer of the above mentioned article about contenders for Wisconsin's Mr. Basketball. He told me that he mistakenly left Mr. Banks off the list.

Thanks for checking into this SB. This kid had an outstanding senior season, and is a winner. This slight will only add more incentive to prove people wrong. Glad he chose to be a Saluki. Brighter days are ahead indeed for Saluki basketball with recruits like Dalton Banks joining the family. Go Dawgs!

Thanks for doing this, Bob! The article is updated with Banks mentioned and getting the respect he deserves. BIG TIME GET FOR THE SALUKIS!

Nice find, Madness! That shows Banks as #3 in the state. Indeed, should be a solid player for us. I fully expect him to get minutes next season.
