Hey Cuz, let it go, Barry ain't coach at SIU anymore. The bright young man in charge now has a well, thought out plan. Remember, patience is a virtue.

No doubt Bryan Mullins is the only one of the ten MVC coaches with a well, thought out plan. He doesn't coach in a vacuum. Will Mullins be good? Who knows. I don't. You don't. Stop acting like has something the other coaches in the league don't.

I kind of doubt his plan was to have to pick up a pair of d-2 kids and a lightly regarded Canadian late in the spring just to fill a roster. Now that don't mean he can't field a competitive squad with this roster, cause I think he's a solid coach. But let's not make it out like this was the master plan. Recruiting is always a fluid process, but don't try to make out like these were his prime targets when he looked at his board last fall and thought about his 2020-2021 team.

You mean the guard who had multiple mvc offers and the Lewis big who had offered from Drake, DePaul and siu? Oh and the Canadian who was still the number 1 player from Manitoba. Tribe can act high and mighty but with all their "talented" players their coach can't consistently coach a successful season. Only a weekend. Also the "amazing" recruits Missouri State got could only muster 6th place. Maybe the offers a player gets doesn't really matter in the end.

Not a very sharp post. SIU has won more than its share of recruiting battles this spring (got Verplancken over Loyola, Muila over Missouri State, D'Avanzo over Drake+DePaul, etc.). And we'll see what they do with the two remaining rides.

As for the DII angle, worked out pretty well for Loyola with Tate Hall last year. As the power conferences increasingly poach midmajor talent, midmajors recruiting top DII players seems to be part of the new recruiting landscape. I don't love all the transferring by any stretch, but DIIs transferring up seems to be an emerging trend.

You are totally missing my point every time. It's ok. Good luck to all MVC schools. Everyone is excited about their new recruits and everyone thinks they will be difference makers.
