After a couple painful recruiting misses in the class of 2022 this fall on in-state prospects (Jalen Quinn to Loyola and NJ Benson to Missouri State), SIU picked up a strong verbal from 6-11 Texas high schooler Cade Hornecker for their first '22 commitment.

Hornecker reportedly had several offers from power conference/high-end midmajor programs: https://www.indystar.com/story/sports/c ... 591665002/

If everyone returns, the 2022-23 Saluki roster will include JD Muila, Kyler Filewich, Scottie Ebube and now Hornecker. I've followed the Salukis for a long while, and they've never had anything sniffing that level of big-man depth.

SIU centers next year will go 6-8, 6-9, 6-10 and 7-0. Interesting that Weber and Lowery were hot on the trail of Hornecker. In Mullins we trust.

Refreshing, and exciting to see how hard this staff works and the results that come with it.
In Mullins we trust indeed.
