UNI got it's first 2023 commitment this morning from Grand Blanc (MI) PG RJ Taylor (5-11 170).

Two Time 1st Team All State in Michigan's largest class and the early favorite to be Mr Basketball in Michigan next year. Led his team to a state title and a runner up the last two years while averaging 18 pts, 6 assists.

Picked UNI over SIU, Elon, Rhode Island, Oakland and a PWO from Michigan State. Appears his size kept him from being an elite recruit.

It's weird, it's almost like if you know who you are, you don't have to change everything just because other people are going about it in a different way. LOL.

RJ's Grand Blanc team lost in the state semifinals last weekend.

RJ was named First Team All State for the the 3rd consecutive year, finished 6th in Mr Basketball voting and was runner-up for Gatorade Player of the Year in the state.

Averaged 14 point, 6 boards, 6 assists, 2 steals and had a 7:1 A:TO ratio. Also had 6 triple doubles on the year.

He's got the exact game and look of a UNI player that everybody hates for 4 years.
