I'm shocked the SIU is having player issues.

Yes, its men's basketball. Taylor is a transfer guard. According to the folks over at Saluki Talk, Taylor was arrested in April for possession of marijuana. The suspension was announced last Friday.

Diamond Taylor is a trfr from Gonzaga who picked SIU when he left the Zags.

He was one of the few things SIU fans had that they thought was a positive going into this season.

The SIU fans that are sticking with the skinny dawgs are like Rocky in the 10th round of a 15-round title fight. They've had the crap beat out of them, but they're still hanging in there waiting for their opportunity. This is like a gut shot that knocks you to the canvas. It's one more thing that indicates there's not going to be a comeback in the 14th or 15th round.

I'm developing a lot of respect for the remaining SIU fans. They've been through so much and are still getting kicked in the grapes. It's easy to abandon the team and just give up.

Having been through that at WSU, I've noticed there's a lot of difference between WSU fans who stayed loyal during the dark days of the '90's and the WSU fans who became fans only when WSU had some success.

Hang in there, SIU fans, I think this is probably Lowery's last year. It's not going to be an easy route back to the upper levels of the Valley and it's probably going to take some time.

Pretty sure that Taylor transferred from Wisconsin, not Gonzaga.

I am absolutely certain that you are correct.

Taylor is further proof that just because a player was recruited by a "big-time" conference, it doesn't mean jack.

Taylor transferred to SIU after being kicked off the Wisconsin team when he was arrested for burglary.
