Any chance the Valley can get 3? It almost happened last year.

Creighton should make it as they have the talent and a decent schedule.
UNI, if they can be good early, has the noncon schedule that can give you the type of wins needed for an at large.
Illinois State has the talent and for once, a fairly solid noncon, so it comes down to how quickly they transition to the new coaching staff.
WSU has some momentum and talent, but their schedule is so-so , and they have to have an awful lot of newcomers perform well .
Drake is a dark horse, as they have talent enough. I'm not sure about their schedule and then there's the issue of Phelps. Can he coach or just recruit?
No one else appears to be a NCAA Tourney level type team at this point.
I'd say Creighton and UNI if they don't bury themselves in the noncon, if not UNI, one other off the list, but probably not two.

I think we'll be lucky to get 2 this year. Barring a serious injury CU is a powerhouse and should be a shoo in. I think Ill State has a good shot but it's a tall order for a 1st year coach to come in and immediately win big.

UNI has a shot based on some pretty good young talent and their coach.

If someone unexpected wins the tourney we might have a slim chance at 3 but other than that a lot of our teams have glaring weaknesses or are just too young.

At least 2. Creighton is solidly in. If the MVC does well in OOC play we could get a couple more.

Based upon the posts, which I have been reading, the following teams will make the Big Dance:

In no particular order of rating:

Blue Birds
Bars
Red Birds
Panthers
Trees

The Bars, huh? Never heard of them. Have you confused this forum with one of another conference such as the SWAC? ;)
[Insert snappy comeback]

Creighton will make it. UNI has the schedule to make it.

50% chance that Illinois St or Wichita St make it. Either will have to capitalize on their noncon, especially Wichita State.

I say 50% chance of two NCAA bids, 20% chance of 3, 5% chance of 4 .

IMHO The Valley should have a real nice shot at getting 3 dancing this season. CU is fairly likely, and if UNI and The Redbirds take of of biz in both their non-con and MVC, then we could be watching 3 Valley reps in the Big Dance...got love it!

Also think WSU should be a solid MVC team, and the bottom teams (BU and SIU) might be improved enough to really give The Valley a nice bump up in the conference RPI department.

ROCK IT VALLEY!! :buddies:

I think UNI can win the league and make the dance. So let's say 2 MVC teams in the tourney.
