UNI back in the AP Poll at 23. Up to 22 in the coaches.

Will be interesting to see where UNI sits 5 games from now. Would be really nice for them to solidify themselves in the teens by the time they play host to WSU. I'd really like the winner of that game to grab a great win, and the loser to keep a spot solidly in the Top 25.

A 19-2 UNI team would probably be about 15?

I doubt it. There will only be 4 games counted in the voting between now and then, so the polls could only possibly reflect an 18-2 UNI team. In the AP it's going to take almost 500 gained votes in the next 2 polls to get to #15, which seems highly unlikely, even if the attrition in front of UNI is decent. Especially when you consider that UNI will play only 1 Top 100-type team and 3 190+ teams in that time. The most votes WSU has gained in the AP poll in any 1 week over the past 2 years is 150. I think 18-19 is much more realistic. But 17-20 should be good enough. If you get the SIU win before playing WSU, a UNI loss would almost certainly not drop UNI out of the Top 25, in fact it would probably barely register. A UNI win, (assuming WSU is also good between now and then) would probably come close to flip-flopping WSU and UNI in the polls, but not quite.

I was probably a little head of myself but can dream. I was thinking 15-20 but wanted to be optimistic so I left the -20 off.

Gaining points, even if the teams directly a head of you all lose (even twice) is damn near impossible apparently.

It just takes time, especially when 'quality wins' are hard to come by.

Agreed, it can be frustrating. I do think the pollsters have shown WSU and UNI pretty solid respect so far this year though.

Here's to hoping we can both win out between now and our matchup on the 31st.

Agreed. UNI could have fallen off the face of the earth in the polls with the Evansville loss but stayed at 26 AP and 23 coaches at that point.

It just sucks to see so many teams in front lose but no ground made up in votes and teams leap in front that were way behind last week.

UNI hosts TREES and in Normal against the BIRDS, before a game against SHOX. And, you've already pegged them at 19-2.
Now that's funny.
