Latest says Shamet is out 6 to 8 weeks. So it could be a rough few weeks for WSU. Hitting the toughest upcoming part of the schedule without an All American, and the most promising Freshman.
Tough blow, so how does the rotation go now? Baker at the 1 and Brown starting at the 2? with Taylor and Simon backing up the 1 and 2?
If they can go 2-1 in this tourney without Shamet and FVV I'd say that's a pretty good showing
Brown hasn't been great so far this year. Hasn't shown yet that he could keep a '2' in front of him on defense. But your guess isn't a bad one. I guess we'll all find out on Thursday. It was obvious on Saturday, against a D2 team, that Marshall had WSU in "get ready to play without Fred" mode, and was doing more coaching than he has in 2 years. Add the loss of Shamet to that, and things get even more interesting. Starting to look more and more like 2012-2013 in Shockerland. Hopefully it ends similarly.
If in the next 2 to 3 weeks, we can get solid growth out of the rest of the team not named Baker and Grady, I will feel good about our chances come March. By the end of December we should have a Healthy FVV and Shamet along with throwing in Frankamp.
