CU wins by 19. Douggie Fresh with 35. Gibbs with 9 pts, 7 boards, and 10 assists. Closest I've seen a CU player come to a triple-double in a really long time.

Career high game for Dougie, nice to get a convincing win against a decent team.

Good match up for Creighton as Tulsa was not a very quick team.

Nice win for the Bluejays...and what a scoring performance from McDermott. There should be no question that this young man is a special talent.

Most interesting stat of the game...CU 3-6 from the 3. Tulsa played tight to the guy they were guarding leaving McD one on one all night leading to career high.

Gibbs is the reason this team is vastly better than last year. Most of the parts are the same but Gibbs and his consistent 7-7-7 with few turnovers per game versus Korver and Ashford is night and day.

McD had an insane performance. He was laying in shots he had no business making. It was like the defenders were transparent to him. He also nailed a three with time running out that he just chucked up and fell in the hoop.

He is an extremely special talent and he is only a soph. He can do it all. If he continues to improve, he could be putting up Larry Bird type numbers by his Sr. season (if he sticks around that long).

...thats right....i said it. Just food for thought. Go look up Larry's college stats. It's not completely out of the realm of possibility. By the time he is done, I bet people will be making the comparisons regarding historical top MVC players. Probably a bit much, but a comparable modern player would have to be gordon hayward, but even looking at that, he has more favorable stats.
