2011-12 MVC basketball schedule information

NORMAL — Outside of Nevada-Las Vegas, there isn’t a lot of glitz on Illinois State’s basketball schedule released Friday.

That could be changing next season.

Illinois State coach Tim Jankovich said the Redbirds are about ready to finalize a deal to play in an exempt tournament in Cancun, Mexico, for the 2011-12 season. Jankovich said it is his understanding the University of Illinois also will be in the field.

“We will be able to play some BCS schools in that, which we’re excited about,” said Jankovich.
